The Spring Harbor Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All current school families and staff are automatically part of the PTO.

Our Purpose

To contribute to the quality of education of children attending Spring Harbor Middle School by enhancing the instructional program, enrichment activities, the school environment, and the school-community relationship.

To encourage close and effective educational relationships among Spring Harbor Middle School's children, parents, staff, and the community.

PTO Position Descriptions

PTO President (1 person)
Time: Monthly PTO meetings + 30 minutes monthly
Responsibilities: create PTO agenda; facilitate PTO meetings; other duties as needed

PTO Vice President (1 person)
Time: Monthly PTO meetings + 30 minutes monthly
Responsibilities: help create PTO agenda; help organize fundraisers; other duties as needed

PTO Secretary (1 person)
Time: Monthly PTO meetings
Responsibilities: take notes at PTO meetings; other duties as needed.

PTO Treasurer (1 person)
Time: Monthly PTO meetings + 15-30 minutes per month (more during Springathon)
Responsibilities: review, summarize and present staff funding requests; maintain/enhance budget reporting spreadsheets; complete annual filing requirements; present financial updates for PTO meetings; other duties as needed

PTO Directors (1-8 people)
Time: Monthly PTO meetings
Responsibilities: vote on board business; volunteer as needed/able
